An immensely thick folio of nearly 800 pages, in the original oak binding, with knobs; Saec. 15.
All the early part of this volume appears to have been written by another hand than that of “Jo. de Lugbow,” and is remarkably distinct, clean, neat: about a third of the volume is written on vellum, with large ornamented initial.
Socci – “Frater Socci Ord. Cisterciencis” – seem to be all that has ever been learned of this Author. Cave referring to MSS. Bibl. Lambeth.
