McCarthy Catalogue vol. I (Italian and Byzantine Illuminations)

I provided a number of addenda and corrigenda to vol. I of the McCarthy catalogue on pp. 348-350 of vol. III, and will record more here as I become aware of them. Contributions from readers are welcome.

  • No. 18. Cuttings from a collection of saints' lives, illuminated by the Master of Monza
    • A previously unrecognised cutting of St Paul is Milan, Biblioteca Trivulziana, A. 54. The incipit is "Paulus apostolus post sui conuersionem multas persecutiones perpessus est ..."; the text continues on the verso. I owe my knowledge of it to the kindness of Beatrice Alai.
