The text in the edition Jordani Ruffi Calabriensis, Hippiatria , ed. Hieronymo Molin (Seminarii Patavini, 1818) [available on Google Books], is numbered as follows:
- [Prologue]
- I-II
- III [1]-4
- IV-V
- VI [prologue and chapter list]
- [VI] 1-57
- Regulae cognitionum omnium equorum
Leaves with continuous text are grouped together. Note that the chapter numbers in the manuscript (here given in lower-case Roman numerals) differ from the 1818 edition by Molin (here in upper-case Roman and Arabic numerals).
The gaps in the text, and a few still-conjoint bifolia, suggest that the structure was:
- Quire I: the outermost bifolium was missing
- Quire II: the 4th and 7th leaves (a bifolium) and the last leaf, were missing
- Quire III: the 3rd and 8th leaves (a bifolium) and the outermost bifolium were missing.
- One or more leaves or quires may have followed, but not necessarily
